Now the real adventure begins. Armed with their phones, or together with you, your students will step into their neighborhoods as sonic explorers. Guided by themed challenges like “Find the quietest sound in your city” or “Capture the sound of nature,” they’ll uncover the hidden symphony of daily life.

Explore the Soundmap

What does the world sound like? Your students will find out by exploring the Soundmap, a global library of sounds collected by other schools. They’ll hear distant cities and reflect: “What makes this place different?” or “How is it similar to ours?”

Play with the City Mixer

What happens when we blend sounds together? Using the City Mixer, your students can become sound creators. They’ll combine recordings to craft their own unique cityscapes.

Quiz and beyond

As the journey nears its end, your students will revisit their favorite sounds and prepare for the big moment: The City Rings Quiz. Together, they’ll select recordings to challenge their ears and celebrate how much they’ve learned.
